General Library Rules
- Reading and consulting books in library is encouraged. Members are required to take out desired books from shelves and consult them in the designated places. Browsing while standing in front of shelves creates inconvenience to others.
- Books, once taken out of the shelves/shelves, will not be re-shelved by members. They will leave them at the specified locations for such books.
- Audio Video materials can only be consulted within Library during working hours only.
- Books borrowed from the library will not be marked with permanent and non permanent inks. Fines for such damaged books will be assessed and charged accordingly.
- In case of a book/none book material is urgently required, the librarian may recall it at a short notice any time and such a book / non-book material shall be returned immediately by the borrower.
- Books with torn pages will be treated as lost books.
- Borrowers are advised to inspect the book at the time of issue and to recall the attention of the librarian to any defect etc.
- No bags, brief cases etc will be brought into the library premises. In case of a violation, the members are obliged to present the cases to the library staff for inspection before leaving the library premises.
- The library timing shall be prescribed by the librarian from time to time with the approval of the Principal NIT.
- Eating, sleeping and audible conversation within the library premises shall be prohibited. A serene atmosphere will be maintained.
- Sufficient number of computers along with scanning and printing facilities, connected through LAN is available in library along with internet facility to access online digital literature, journals and electronic databases. Rules for the usage of digital library must be followed.
- A photocopier placed in Library will meet requirements of photocopying from books that can’t be issued.
- The library administration will have the power to cancel the membership of borrower, if misbehaved the library staff.
